Sugar Druzy Quartz-Coated Green Fluorite – Xia Yang Mine, Fujian, China
A beautiful Green Fluorite specimen with sparkling Sugar Druzy Quartz, attributed to the Xia Yang Mine (Xiayang Mine), Yongchun County, Quanzhou, Fujian Province, China.
This impressive large cabinet specimen features translucent mint-green Fluorite crystals surrounded by an abundant coating of fine, sugar-like Quartz crystals. The delicate drusy coating produces a frosted, glittering appearance, creating an attractive contrast between the pale green Fluorite and the white to soft grey crystalline surfaces.
One of the most striking characteristics of this specimen is its three-dimensional arrangement of Quartz-coated crystal formations. The upper section displays clusters of mint-green Fluorite with partially exposed crystal faces, while the central and lower portions feature densely crystallized surfaces with numerous sparkling Quartz points.
The pale grey crystalline areas create natural depth and contrast, with small cavities and irregular formations adding visual interest from different viewing angles.
Measuring approximately 143 × 75 × 50 mm and weighing 400 grams, this substantial specimen makes an attractive addition to a collection of Chinese Fluorite, Quartz associations, and display-quality mineral specimens.

Collector's Highlights
Sparkling Sugar Druzy Quartz
An extensive coating of fine Quartz microcrystals creates a frosted, sugar-like appearance that reflects light across the specimen's textured surfaces.
Beautiful Mint-Green Fluorite
Soft green Fluorite crystals are visible through portions of the white Quartz coating, creating a delicate contrast between translucent crystal faces and densely crystallized areas.
Three-Dimensional Crystal Formation
The specimen features an attractive arrangement of raised crystal clusters, recessed areas, and sparkling drusy surfaces, offering visual interest from multiple angles.
Contrasting White and Grey Quartz
The variation between frosty white and pale grey crystalline surfaces adds depth and texture to the overall formation.
Collectible Fujian Locality
Attributed to the Xia Yang Mine in Yongchun County, Fujian Province, China, a locality associated with attractive Fluorite specimens.
Large Cabinet Display Size
With dimensions of approximately 143 × 75 × 50 mm, this specimen has a substantial presence suitable for mineral cabinets and collector displays.
Care and Handling
Fluorite has a Mohs hardness of 4 and perfect octahedral cleavage, making it sensitive to scratches and accidental impacts.
The fine Druzy Quartz coating should be handled carefully to preserve its delicate crystalline surfaces.
Avoid ultrasonic cleaning, harsh chemicals, and unnecessary washing. Store in a secure display cabinet away from prolonged direct sunlight.
