Sugar Druzy Quartz-Coated Green Fluorite – Xia Yang Mine, Fujian, China
An impressive Green Fluorite specimen with sparkling Sugar Druzy Quartz, attributed to the Xia Yang Mine (Xiayang Mine), Yongchun County, Quanzhou, Fujian Province, China.
This remarkable large cabinet specimen features an elongated, naturally sculptural formation with translucent mint-green Fluorite crystals partially covered by a delicate coating of fine white Druzy Quartz.
The specimen displays an attractive contrast between its pale green Fluorite crystals, frosted white crystalline surfaces, and darker smoky-grey matrix.
Its most distinctive feature is the tall, tapering crystal arrangement, which creates a dramatic, almost mountain-like silhouette when displayed vertically.
Across the upper portion, clusters of pale green Fluorite emerge through the sparkling Quartz coating, while the middle section reveals deeper green crystal areas framed by soft white, sugar-like overgrowths.
The lower portion features a dense arrangement of frosted crystalline surfaces, with subtle grey tones adding depth and visual contrast.
The reverse side reveals additional pale green Fluorite, grey crystalline areas, and numerous fine sparkling crystal points, making this an attractive specimen to appreciate from multiple viewing angles.
Measuring approximately 170 × 75 × 40 mm and weighing 511 grams, this substantial mineral specimen makes an eye-catching addition to a collector's display.

Collector's Highlights
Distinctive Tall Formation
The elongated, tapering silhouette creates a beautiful natural sculptural appearance, especially when displayed vertically.
Mint-Green Fluorite Crystals
Attractive pale green Fluorite crystals emerge through the frosted Quartz coating, creating subtle variations in color and translucency.
Sparkling Sugar Druzy Quartz
Fine Quartz microcrystals coat much of the specimen, producing a delicate sugar-like texture that catches the light.
Beautiful Color Contrast
The combination of mint-green Fluorite, frosty white Quartz, and smoky-grey crystalline surfaces creates a visually interesting mineral association.
Multiple Display Angles
Both the front and reverse reveal attractive mineral formations, allowing collectors to appreciate different aspects of the specimen.
Large Cabinet Display Size
At approximately 170 mm tall and weighing 511 grams, this specimen offers a substantial presence for mineral cabinets and specialized Fluorite collections.
Care and Handling
Fluorite has a Mohs hardness of 4 and perfect octahedral cleavage, making it vulnerable to scratching and accidental impacts.
The fine Druzy Quartz coating should be handled carefully to preserve its delicate crystalline surfaces.
Avoid ultrasonic cleaning, harsh chemicals, and unnecessary washing. Keep away from prolonged direct sunlight.
