Elvis's fascination with minerals began in his teenage years, where he found himself irresistibly drawn to their allure. Late nights spent scouring online auctions became a regular ritual as he immersed himself in the world of mineral collecting. Meanwhile, Kay's early exposure to gemstones through her mother's jewelry business kindled a lifelong fascination, with her favorite childhood book being a miniature encyclopedia of gemstones.
In 2013, as a stay-at-home mother to Hugo and Lucas, Kay found herself yearning for a creative outlet beyond baby talk. Intrigued by Elvis's enthusiasm for mineral collecting, she soon found herself captivated by the beauty and energy of these natural wonders. Together, they embarked on a journey to share their passion with others, delving into online selling platforms and cultivating a dedicated clientele, primarily in the USA.

In 2019, their shared dream took a tangible form with the opening of their first showroom on Mayo Street. However, the challenges of 2020, compounded by the arrival of their third child, prompted a temporary closure of the physical space. Undeterred, they pivoted their focus back to online sales, continuing to connect with their loyal customers across the globe.
On the Fourth of July 2023, as they welcomed their fourth child, they also celebrated the expansion of their ever-growing family of crystal enthusiasts. Each member of this community plays a vital role in the journey of EK Mineral Haven, and their unwavering support is deeply cherished.
